Hello everybody! Let me first start by saying that if you want to read a lot about what two of us fundamental baptists believe, go to my LJ (bby_rep) or Dustin's (</span>mc_preacherboy).

Now, I hope this site grows and that everybody will get something positive out of this, and maybe even have lives changed. This community does not have open posting, but if you are granted membership, you will be able to post automatically.

Now, I just hope you all enjoy this and let's make it a clean fight ;)

This could very well be our first spirited debate! Fine... um... he said fine, and as the product of violence replayed again and again by the media, slowly drilling soundbytes into the heads of America until the volatile acts become second nature- I interpret ear biting as being a clean fight. I also attack cameramen and spectators while playing basketball, and make shotty calls against Indianapolis that even Paccino's character in 'Scent of a Woman' would have seen through when I play football. It is just how I work. Now, do we play the media for subjecting this sort of action to me, my parents for allowing these violent mannerisms to take root in my subconscious when they allowed television to act as a babysitter, or the people at Rayovac?

I say we blame the sin nature living inside of all of them. Especially the people at Rayovac.

Perhaps the viewers should see subliminal messages saying "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." instead of "Smoke."

*shrug*

Then again, we can't blame the viewers for watching things glorifying the world, especially if they have not read this section from 1 John.

In my psychology class, we are learning about the brain and it's functions... which includes how media manipulates us and apeals to us. The media draws a person in by apealing to both the logical left hemisphere, and the fun-loving right hemisphere. When it comes down to reading a book or watching TV, most people will choose TV because it apeals to the entire brain AND makes IT have to do less work.

i go to a baptist church, but I'm as um... not baptist (minus the whole baptism thing) as they go. I think the Southern Baptist F&M of 2000 is heretical ;).

I don't think we fundie breed are all-to-fond of the Southern either... Ironically (and with a pinch of hypocrisy) many people at my church LOVE southern gospel music... A music genre comprised mostly of southern baptists.
